‘Meelika’ is bred at the Polli Horticultural Research Centre by Kalju Kask and Johan Eichfeld. Open pollinated (1955) seedling of ‘Leningradskaja Tšornaja’. Registed as new cultivar since 18.03.2009

Ripening time: midseason or early midseason.

Cherry is smallish, oval shaped. The skin is blackish red or black. The flesh is dark red, soft, juicy, sweet and sour, very tasty. The juice is dark red. The stone can be easily separated from the flesh.

Tree is medium vigorous, with roundish crown. A good bearer. Partially self-fruitful, pollinated by ‘Arthur’ and ‘Norri’. Winter hardy. Disease resistance is good.
